The "Z" Family

This almost makes me want to have another baby! :)  Here is a small slideshow of The Z Family photos.  (This video is best viewed as it's original size as the resolution is very low.)

Baby "M": 15 Days {Stephens City, Virginia Newborn Photographer}

The first part of this session had me worried as this perfect little princess rested one eye at a time. She knew something was about to happen to her and she was not letting her guard down. Once she got to know me well enough, she drifted off to sleep and we didn't hear a peep out of her until almost two hours later. I couldn't have asked for any more out of her. Mom and I had a nice time chatting and getting to know one another. I'm looking forward to taking some famiy photos and working with this family again.

The Neese's {Winchester, Virginia Family Photographer}

From the moment my sister-in-law asked me to photograph her family I envisioned the scene.  Vintage would be the theme, her heirloom sofa was a must and it was going to be magical.  Sunday when we met at "the farm" in Jerome, we had the sofa, we had lots of vintage and we had tons of magic.  Seriously.  The fog that came rolling in halfway through our session....magic!  :)  Here is a tiny sliver of what was captured in the short time we spent together.  Enjoy!

Class of 2012: Brooke {Woodstock, Virginia Senior Photographer}

We decided to go ahead with this evening's session even though it was calling for thunderstorms.  So glad that we did, it turned out to be a beautiful (humid) evening!  The sky was so blue and pretty.  Here is a small preview...

Reagan: 10 Weeks {New Market, Virginia Newborn Photographer}

I was so excited when my husband's cousin, Julie asked me to photograph her beautiful new baby, Reagan.  I was a little nervous in preparing for this session because she is just outside of the typical newborn session window.  Are you kidding me?  This little princess was a piece of cake to photograph.  Of course, I had some help from mom and grandma but really, she was an angel!  I can't wait for her family to see the rest of her fantastic pictures!

Senior Night 2012

It was a bittersweet night, Friday night.  The class of 2012 seniors were announced down on the field as they escorted their parents to the center.  When I heard "Sean Semones" I had to fight back the tears.  This is the beginning of the end for him and it's so hard to believe.  I can still remember taking him to flag football practice when he was 5.  Time flies, it's true.

 On a much more exciting note, Sean had 3 of the 5 touchdowns that game!

Here are some photos of a few of the seniors from Friday night.

Little Lucy: 1 Week {Harrisonburg, Virginia Newborn Photographer}

Last week I traveled to Harrisonburg to meet this perfect baby girl.  The first few minutes of the session were fantastic...after that, mom and I had to work hard to get the rest of our shots.  It was worth the fight, I came away with lots of great photos of one-week-old Lucy.

Z Family: Maternity {Virginia Maternity Photographer}

I instantly fell for little O's smile.  It was so fun chasing him around, hearing his adorable belly laughs and watching him stop to pull up his pants every four-or-so steps.  He's going to be such great big brother.  Mom and dad were fun to work with too!  They were willing to try anything and so easy-going, any photographer's dream client!  Check for more of the Z family in November when baby sister arrives!  I can't wait to meet her!

Ashlee + Kolter: The Wedding {Shenandoah County, Virginia Wedding Photographer}

Even though this bride started her wedding day off with a no-show hairdresser/make-up artist, she still looked gorgeous!  Her hair was perfect, everything was perfect.  The ceremony was small and intimate and the reception was big and full of fun!  I was so honored to be a part of this awesome day.

Precious Peyton {Culpeper, Virginia Newborn Photographer}

Baby Peyton was not the least bit sleepy when I arrived to photograph her.  After almost an hour of feeding, rocking, swinging and "shhh"ing, mom's gentle touch had her out like a light.

Beautiful Bride {Shenandoah County, Virginia Wedding Photographer}

I've been chomping at the bit, dying to show these bridal pictures.  A few weeks ago I met Ashlee at her wedding venue, Cave Ridge Vineyard to capture a few formal bridal portraits before her big day.  Ashlee is a long-time friend of my sister so we had lots of laughs during our session.

Fan Photo Edits & a Photography Tip: Woodstock Virginia Photographer

I chose two fan photos to edit for the first time around.  The first picture is a great wedding photo that just needed a little touching up.  Since this is a traditional wedding pose, I decided to adjust the levels and exposure a little for a more dramatic feel.
I loved this photo.  The mood, the setting and the cutie pie  cool surfer dude.  There is a lot of noise in this photograph so I lightened it and softened it a little by adusting the exposure and contrast.  I hated to crop out the awesome wave in the background (kinda hating that I did) but wanted to zoom in on his adorable handsome little profile.  This guy just started kindergarten and happens to be in Kendall's class, he's totally too cool for words like "cutie pie" and "adorable". :)

Photography Tip:  To avoid a noisy (grainy) photo, decrease your ISO setting.  The higher your ISO the noisier (grainier) your image will be.  ISO adjusts the light settings.  Low light/high ISO, lots of light/low ISO...try it and email your image to abigale.neese@gmail.com!
