Christopher+Shelley..........MARRIED! {Waynesboro, Virginia Wedding Photographer}
On my way to Waynesboro yesterday it started to sprinkle. The clouds were dark and it looked like it was going to get nasty! By the time I made it to the venue, I knew the chances of an outdoor wedding were slim. I started to worry about the "bridezilla" I would be working with the entire day. When I pulled up and saw a huge smile on Shelley's face, all worries were gone. She was so calm and as she put it, "either way, I'm still getting married today!"
The stables were beautiful, the wedding party was awesome, both the bride and the groom were stunning. They even got a congratulations from the corralled horses upon their first introduction as Mr. & Mrs. Shuman. :)
Thank you, Chris and Shelley for allowing me to play a role in your super special day! Everything was lovely!

Ashlee + Kolter: The Wedding {Shenandoah County, Virginia Wedding Photographer}
Even though this bride started her wedding day off with a no-show hairdresser/make-up artist, she still looked gorgeous! Her hair was perfect, everything was perfect. The ceremony was small and intimate and the reception was big and full of fun! I was so honored to be a part of this awesome day.
Beautiful Bride {Shenandoah County, Virginia Wedding Photographer}
I've been chomping at the bit, dying to show these bridal pictures. A few weeks ago I met Ashlee at her wedding venue, Cave Ridge Vineyard to capture a few formal bridal portraits before her big day. Ashlee is a long-time friend of my sister so we had lots of laughs during our session.

Cloud Wedding: Natural Bridge
I've passed the exit hundreds of times, I've seen pictures of it online and on brochures everywhere, we even visited the zoo last summer on our way home from a wedding. I gotta tell ya, I was never really interested in seeing "the bridge" at all. Not even a little. It's mid-July so I don't even have to tell you that it was a bit warm and humid yesterday, the thought of trudging down a hill to see something I've "seen" before wasn't very exciting to me. BUT I am SO happy I did (not that I had a choice at that point). I am thrilled that Jason and Jennifer asked me to photograph their wedding. The moment I turned the corner and started down the concrete path along-side the beautiful river I was amazed. I remember thinking to myself how no photograph I'd seen had done this place any justice. You have to visit Natural Bridge if you haven't yet. The Hotel is beautiful, the area is peaceful and the Bridge is captivating. This was the perfect setting for The Cloud's to tie the knot.
Their wonderful family and friends were all so loving and kind, even my fellow vendors, I feel, are my new friends. I worked alongside Mike and crew from Michael's Videography and Jean and Jacob of Perna's Entertainment. They were so helpful and fun to work with. They obviously had TONS of experience and were so professional.
Jason and Jennifer planned the perfect day but they didn't plan the HUGE crowd of Bridge visitors who cheered for them upon the completion of their ceremony.
Huge thank you to The Cloud's for allowing me to be a part of their day.

On "Cloud" 9
Jennifer and Jason were all smiles for their photo session a few weeks ago. I will be joining them in Natural Bridge this Saturday (July 9th) as they become husband and wife. I've been working with this couple for a few months now and they seem to be the perfect match. Best wishes to Jennifer and Jason, wedding pics to follow after the big day!
Jump Around!
Okay, so I have been the worst blogger lately. Not that I'm a good blogger any other time, but I've been especially bad this summer. I've had several sessions that I've neglected to post. So some of my previous posts are out of order. I will be updating them tonight, starting with the Gangwer rehearsal dinner.
Recently (and when you're behind on blogging, recently means a month {or so} ago) a "cousin-in-law" asked if I would be available to shoot her son's rehearsal dinner. So, with nothing scheduled, I was happy to help out. The rehearsal was pretty laid back and the dinner was lovely. Will and Keisha (Sorry for the spelling K) were surrounded by fun-loving family and friends. Here are some highlights from their evening...

Ashley+Mark = Married
Her hard work and planning all came together yesterday. Every piece was in place, each detail was marked off the list and the wedding day was underway. I spent the morning with the girls while they hung in the salon getting their hair done and met back up with them at the NOVA 4-H Center. Before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony to begin. As you can see below, Mark was stunned when his beautiful bride made her way toward him.
Many thanks to my friend, Stephanie for her hard work and support yesterday. There is no way I would have made it the entire day without her there!
