Kaylee is Turning ONE!!! {Woodstock, Virginia Child Photographer}

This session was WAY too easy!  Kaylee was all smiles from the time she walked in.  I was lucky to have mom, dad and big brother there to help me get lots of smiles from this beautiful baby girl!  She has the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen.

Happy Birthday Mrs. French {Woodstock, Virginia Photographer}

I was honored when I was asked to photograph Mrs. French's 80th birthday.  I spent the evening listening to the many wonderful stories her family had to share.  All NINE of her children told some of their favorite memories of their mother from over the years.  Other family members spoke and shared.  Some common memories were singing, cooking, sewing, and even driving.  My favorite memory of Mrs. French is her laugh.  In my 30 years of life, I know that every single time I have seen her, she has had a smile on her face that ultimately ends in a roar of laughter.

Thank you, French's for allowing me to be a part of such a wonderful evening!!!

Mini Session: Round 2 {Winchester, Virginia Child & Family Photographer}

Two of the three families from below are repeat clients.  I just love seeing how much babies change from one session to the next!  They were all such great sports for their session.

Christmas Mini Sessions: Round 1 {Winchester, Virginia Child & Family Photographer}

When I planned this round of mini sessions, I expected to get lots of shots of puffy winter coats.  I figured it would be freezing cold, lots of wind and total misery for my clients.  I was prepared for the worst weather possible since that's what I had for my last mini session day.  The weather was awesome.  Perfect!  It was warm and partly cloudy.  Exactly what any photographer would want for a day like this. 

I enjoyed working with lots of new clients and seeing some returning clients who have stuck by me since the beginning of ANP.   Thank you to everyone who came out Saturday and thank you to those of you who check in faithfully to see my newest work!!!  Stay tuned for round 2 and 3 of mini session posts. 

Celebrating Jack & Will {Woodstock, Virginia Event Photographer}

I was honored when Meghann asked me to come photograph a party to wish her husband, Will well as he prepares to deploy for seven months and her son, Jack's first birthday.  Lots of hard work went in to preparing for this party, Meghann and her family did SUCH an awesome job paying extra close attention to every detail.  The party was wrapped up with a special slideshow of little Jack's first year highlights.  Thank you, Eastham's for including me in your super special evening!

Mini Session Success {Winchester, Virginia Family Photographer}

I walked outside this morning full of excitement.  The sun was shining, the wind was calm and the temperature was chilly but not cold.  It was the perfect day for my mini sessions.  Halfway to Winchester it got cloudy and by the time I hit my exit it was POURING.  I could have cried but then I remembered some really cool shots that I saw on Pinterest and was inspired again.  I can't share too many of the photos from the sessions because most families are using their photos either for their Christmas Cards or for Christmas Presents.  Here is a sneak peak of some of my favorites.  More to come as I get caught up on editing.

Okay, so I have been the worst blogger lately. Not that I'm a good blogger any other time, but I've been especially bad this summer.  I've had several sessions that I've neglected to post.  So some of my previous posts are out of order.  I will be updating them tonight, starting with the Gangwer rehearsal dinner.
Recently (and when you're behind on blogging, recently means a month {or so} ago) a "cousin-in-law" asked if I would be available to shoot her son's rehearsal dinner.  So, with nothing scheduled, I was happy to help out.  The rehearsal was pretty laid back and the dinner was lovely.  Will and Keisha (Sorry for the spelling K) were surrounded by fun-loving family and friends.  Here are some highlights from their evening...

Add a Photo Booth to Your Wedding Package!

I thought it would be fun to add a special touch to Ashley and Mark's wedding reception.  With permission from the bride, we set up a photo booth with fun props for guests to enjoy.  It was so fun to see everyone playing around while snapping their own pictures, plus it was free entertainment for the children who came.
